The Delta Variant is more infectious and more powerful than previous variants. Delta now makes up for the majority of cases in the US and abroad with cases rising all over the US in cities that seemed to be returning back to normal.
Where did Delta come from and will there be more variants like it? The more a virus exists in a population, the more it will mutate and evolve over time. Delta is a variant of what came before and due to our lack of reaching a vaccinated population threshold, there will likely be more variants in the future. As much as we all wanted COVID to be behind us, we all have to do our part to continue to stay safe and keep our community protected.
What if you’ve been vaccinated? Even if you’ve received one or both of your shots of the vaccine, there are now many reported breakthrough cases. Follow CDC’s updated guidance and wear masks indoors when you can. But, if you feel symptoms or have been exposed, you need to get tested as well. The CDC now says a vaccinated person can transmit the Delta variant as easy as someone who is unvaccinated. Keep your community safe and get tested now.
If you are uninsured, your vaccine is covered by the federal government HRSA program. If you are insured, we will bill your insurance; you will not be charged a copay or deductible. If your insurance company attempts to pass the bill to you, please email us at email@example.com with any supporting documents. Please note, we will never charge you for your COVID-19 test and will always support you to resolve any issues.
