The women’s health panel is a blood test that consists of hormone and general health tests that are designed for women to determine their overall health including blood counts, kidney functions, liver functions, female hormones, heart health, and thyroid status.

Why do patients need it?

Wellness panels are for women of all ages so they can make decisions based on their current health toward their healthcare goals or goals determined by their physician.

What does the test include?

  • CBC: A complete blood count can detect many disorders, including anemia, infections, and leukemia, as well as determine your overall health.
  • CMP: Comprehensive metabolic panel is often used to monitor liver and kidney function, nutrient levels, as well as help diagnose kidney and liver diseases.
  • Lipid Panels measure fat cells in your blood called lipids. This panel helps assess the risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack, and stroke.
  • Estradiol: Estradiol is a type of estrogen hormone and helps with sexual development and functioning.
  • TSH: Thyroid stimulating hormone test measures TSH levels to assess thyroid health and function.
  • A1C: Hemoglobin A1C test measures the average blood glucose levels over the past three months, helping to diagnose and monitor diabetes.
  • Testosterone: Measures testosterone levels to ensure adequate bone density, muscle & fat development, sex drive, as well as mood and energy levels.
  • Progesterone: Measures your body’s level of progesterone, a hormone that prepares the body for pregnancy.
  • DHEA: Measures dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) which helps regulate hormone production. This test helps evaluate adrenal gland function.
  • FSH: The follicle-stimulating hormone is produced by the pituitary gland and plays a critical role in sexual development, menstrual cycles, and reproduction.
  • LH: Luteinizing hormone works closely with FSH in sexual development and function.

Patient Instructions:

Patient instructions: Fasting (not eating or drinking anything except water) for 8-12 hours recommended but not required. If you choose not to fast, you may show elevated glucose and triglyceride levels.
