This test detects the presence of 10 different types of substances commonly associated with drug abuse by testing a urine sample and may also be followed by secondary testing to confirm any positive results. This could be required by employers, for background checks, or a general wellness screening.

Why do patients need it?

10 panel drug tests are commonly used in the workplace. For example, you may be required to undergo a background drug test when you are being considered for a job, if you have been absent from work for a period of time, or if you have been suspected of using illegal drugs.

What does it test?

  • Cocaine: Includes powder cocaine as well as crack cocaine.
  • Marijuana: In addition to THC, the test can also detect CBD, another active ingredient in cannabis.
  • PCP: Also called angel dust, rocket fuel, or Phencyclidine.
  • Amphetamines: This includes meth, ecstasy, speed, Adderall, Ritalin, and other prescription stimulants.
  • Opiates: Include heroin and common opioids like morphine and codeine.
  • Benzodiazepines: Also called “benzos,” they include Valium and Xanax.
  • Barbiturates: Sedatives and sleeping pills are commonly prescribed barbiturates
  • Methadone: Generally used to treat heroin addiction, but can be abused.
  • Propoxyphene: A pain reliever and cough suppressant often abused, brand names include Darvon and Darvocet.
  • Quaaludes: Also known as methaqualone, they were originally developed as a substitute for barbiturates, but quickly became just as addicting.
